Help Knees Heal Faster
Applying BandGrip's Micro-Anchor Skin Closures over a knee incision could result in less scarring than if sutures or staples were used to close the wound. Curved micro-anchors keep the edges of wounds closed during the initial healing phase. Stretchy, transparent, and not made with natural rubber latex, BandGrip is easily applied and removed. The water-resistant product can be left in place for up to 15 days post-op. Surgeons like that they can use the product to close wounds faster than with sutures, and patients appreciate that they can shower within 24 hours of surgery and they can see their wound heal naturally.

Better Views of the Colon
Pentax Medical's new Imagina Endoscopy System integrates HD imaging and CMOS technology with the company's i-Scan image-enhancement platform to provide brilliant views of the colon's mucosal surface and blood vessels, and give physicians the illumination and image quality needed to increase adenoma detection rates. The system's flexible endoscope features two ultra-bright LED lights at the distal tip and plugs into a compact imaging platform with intuitive touchscreen controls and the ability to view captured images instantaneously.

Pain Relief in a Bag
Injectable ibuprofen is now available in a ready-to-use IV bag that requires no diluting before administration. The drug, suitable for administering to adults and children 6 years and older, is a proven option to manage post-op pain with fewer opioids. Each pre-mixed bag contains 800 mg of ibuprofen in a 200 ml low-sodium formulation. A 400 mg to 800 mg IV dose can be administered every six hours for a maximum daily dose of 3,200 mg. The drug is also available in 800 mg/8 ml single-dose vials that must be diluted before infusion.

Lumen Drying Device for Endoscopes
Cenorin's new LD 100 Lumen Drying System is a device that's installed inside endoscope drying cabinets to prevent retained moisture from forming in internal lumens and speed drying times, says the company. The LD 100, which features two brackets that are stacked vertically, is designed to dry two endoscopes at a time using HEPA-filtered air delivered at a low pressure to protect the devices. Cenorin says the device can be used without impeding the simultaneous drying of other devices in your cabinet. The system's user interface allows for at-a-glance process monitoring and includes a timer that tracks scope-specific drying times.

Click-and-Spray Clot Delivery System
Johnson+Johnson's VistaSeal delivers a fibrin sealant at targeted tissue to produce a rapidly adherent and durable clot with a proven ability to sustain hemostasis, even in high-risk patients, when attempts to control mild to moderate intraop bleeding with traditional methods are ineffective. The easy-to-set-up device is available in 2 ml, 4 ml and 10 ml sizes, and comes packaged in a single box containing a pre-filled syringe and malleable dual applicators. Surgeons click the two components together to quickly deliver the sealant in drip or spray form during laparoscopic or open cases.

Pulse Pain Away
Place this lightweight applicator (it's 7.5 inches in diameter) over surgical sites to reduce post-op pain and edema, speed the healing process and limit the need for opioids during the first 48 hours after surgery. The innovative SofPulse from Endonovo Therapeutics delivers targeted electromagnetic pulses directly to tissue to accelerate nitric oxide activation, which promotes growth factor production, reduces inflammation and accelerating tissue regeneration. The device promises natural pain relief with no known side effects and can be pre-programmed to deliver 15 minutes of pulse therapy every two hours.
