We have two strikes against us when it comes to managing surgical supplies. One, a surgical center represents a very chaotic environment for supply. Two, our core function is performing surgery, not supply-chain management. Neither of those changes the fact that the financial health of our facilities falls squarely on our shoulders — and supplies play a big role in that reality. My goal is to spend no more than 12 percent of our center's net revenue on supplies and drugs.
