How many times have you urged your staff to keep an eye on supply levels and to put in a request when they're low? How often have you risked running out because staff members didn't? For us, this was especially a problem because our purchasers and our receiving storeroom aren't in our medical arts building, but in the separate administrative building, which doesn't keep the same hours as we do and is closed on weekends.
