Handle Dangerous Drugs With Care

The Hazardous Drug Bags from Medi-Dose can help your facility comply with USP <800>, which provides standards for limiting staff exposure to potentially harmful medications. Available in four sizes and 2mm and 4mm thicknesses, the brightly colored latex-free bags feature a warning message that reminds providers to use caution when dispensing, administering and disposing the medications they contain. The bags are designed to hold syringes, vials and IV bags, says Medi-Dose.

LogiTag Medical Solutions' Snap & Go charge-capture device records and bills medical implants and consumables used during surgery. Place packaged items on the system's surface and an overhead scanner, which uses image-recognition and artificial intelligence technologies, automatically documents implants, hardware and disposable supplies. The system frees members of the surgical team from having to manually note items or enter them into an EMR, leading to more accurate recordkeeping and capturing of the true cost of surgery — with less administrative work.

An Easy Fix for Foot Ligament Tear

Surgeons can use the all-suture anchor implant of the Paratrooper Plantar Plate System from Paragon 28 to take some of the challenge out of repairing the foot's plantar plate. The implant, which can be fixed into bone or soft tissue, gives surgeons the option to use a variety of fixation techniques while preserving surrounding tissue. The implant kit comes with proprietary instrumentation, eliminating the need to gather the complicated tools often needed to complete the repair with standard techniques. This system is set for commercial launch in June.
