InstaPoll: How Accurate Are Your Preference Cards?

Published: April 10, 2017

Do your physician preference cards accurately reflect the supplies your surgeons will use during a case, or are they inaccurate and out-of-date, resulting in you pulling supplies for a case that surgeons rarely if ever use. Tell us in this week's InstaPoll.

It's a clear violation of AORN's Guideline for Surgical Attire to wear scrub attire outside of the hospital or surgical center perimeter, yet nearly three-fourths (72%) of the 443 respondents to last week's poll say their surgeons and staff wear their scrubs to and from work. The results:

My surgeons and staff wear their scrubs to and from work _____ .

  • always 9%
  • very often 22%
  • sometimes 22%
  • rarely 19%
  • never 28%
