THE TEGADERM STRETCH
Don't Peel Off the Tegaderm — Stretch It

There's so much focus on painless IV starts, but what about the hurt patients feel when you remove the Tegaderm once you've discontinued the IV? Try this simple solution: Instead of peeling off the Tegaderm, stretch it. Doing so will immediately release the stickiness, making it painless (and quick) for your patient. Use your dominant hand to stretch the Tegaderm out and pull up while stabilizing the hub of the IV catheter with your non-dominant hand.
