Let the Good Times Roll

Published: July 7, 2014

"Shut the front door!! I'm so excited — you have just made my day!" That's Donna Cooley, RN, upon learning that she'd been selected as OR Excellence's early-bird grand prize winner this year. The director of nursing at Scripps Mercy Surgery Pavillion in San Diego, Calif., will be enjoying her downtime at ORX in the New Orleans Marriott's luxurious Presidential Suite, on us.

Second prize winner Donna Ferguson, RN, MBA, director of outpatient surgery and the GI lab at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital in Valencia, Calif., will also get to kick back during her first trip to NOLA with a room upgrade to one of the Marriott's Tower Suites.

And if you hear someone raving about the gumbo at the Marriott's 5 Fifty 5 restaurant — made from a secret recipe — it could be one of our third prize winners, who'll each receive a $100 gift certificate: Shari Braswell of Regional One Health Surgery Center in Memphis, Tenn.; Sonia Hulsey of SurgiCare of Boca in Boca Raton, Fla.; and Sheila Tesiny of Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital in Valencia, Calif.

It's not too late to join our winners at the most unique surgical conference of the year: OR Excellence, October 14 to 17, 2014, at the New Orleans Marriott in the city's French Quarter. What makes ORX so special? The people, for starters. Most ORX attendees are the DONs, administrators, OR managers and other key decision-makers at their facilities, some of the largest hospitals and ASCs in the nation.

The content is edgy, sometimes even controversial, and delivered in highly interactive sessions where attendees use handheld keypads to respond to presenters in real time. Plus, the complimentary wine and martini tasting events in the exhibit hall mean you'll have a blast learning about new surgical solutions.

Register by August 22 and you'll be entered into our pre-registration contest for a shot at prizes that include an upgrade to a suite, more $100 gift certificates, and a stay in the Vice Presidential Suite. Visit the conference website for more details.
