Medicare is slowly ramping up its support for spine procedures performed in ASCs, thanks in part to technological advancements that promote safe and efficient outpatient care. In light of spine's same day surgery evolution, Medicare's new ASC payment system offers reimbursement for previously excluded procedures, including two commonly performed on Medicare beneficiaries: vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty. Now's the time to consider adding basic spine procedures to your case mix.
