Do You Need an X-Ray Tech For Pain Procedures?
Re: "5 Profit-Building Secrets of Busy Pain Centers" (September, page 18). Not using a radiologic technologist in pain procedures will hinder, not help, your efficiency. You'll waste a lot of time positioning the C-arm, which increases radiation dose. The author says her center uses a Super C-arm, which only further demonstrates the need for a qualified RT. An RT is committed to giving the lowest radiation dose to achieve the optimal image. Our pain center is extremely efficient with a low cost per patient and every team member is on task for a high level of patient care.
