How We Developed a Collegiality Policy

After enduring months of constant ribbing in the OR, I felt I had no choice but to file a grievance against the offending physician. Looking back, I wish that my hospital had offered a more civil way to resolve my issues with the disruptive doc without blemishing his permanent record. What we needed was a forum for open communication and conflict resolution that let staff deal with issues themselves. Today it's known as our collegiality policy.
