Getting Tough on MRSA

About 5 years ago our hospital system suffered the consequences of low hand-hygiene compliance. As a result of poor habits, 18 premature infants were infected with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Two of the infected infants died from complications related to their infections and their premature births.
