Complying With Medicare's New Conditions of Coverage
ASCs must notify patients of rights and ownership before day of surgery

Effective May 18, ambulatory surgical centers that schedule and perform surgery on the same day will be in violation of a new Medicare condition of coverage that requires ASCs to provide patients with verbal and written notifications of patients' rights and the center's ownership before the day of the procedure.
