Stimulus Package Impacts Health IT

Tucked inside the $787 billion economic stimulus package President Obama signed on Feb. 17 is roughly $19 billion for health information technology. The massive injection of funds is designed to spur vendors, healthcare providers and government agencies to action as the president aims to create an electronic health record for every American by 2014.
