Can OR Briefings Prevent Errors?

A study says a two-minute checklist confirms that you have the correct patient for the correct operation.

"The surgeon is supposed to be the captain of the ship, right?" asks Martin A. Makary, MD, MPH, the director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Surgical Outcomes Research and noted champion of teamwork in the operating room.
