JCAHO's 2007 National Patient Safety Goals encourage patients' active involvement in their own care. Effective Jan. 1, NPSG 13 focuses on patient involvement as a safety strategy. The goal also includes a new requirement that organizations "define and communicate the means for patients and their families to report concerns about safety." |
