When I accepted my position as clinical director of the Corinth Surgery Center three years ago, I knew I was in for a learning curve. In my previous job as a circulating nurse in a hospital-owned ASC, I was primarily an OR nurse with some clinical and nurse management duties. Suddenly, I was in what felt like a whole new world: My new ASC had its own contracts, quality initiatives, employees and insurance programs, among other things.
