Dan O'Connor, Editor When we invited a group of consultants to share with you the secret to a successful surgery center in 100 words or less, we received lots of great tips, a few of which appear on page 20. The one that stands out, though, is this 18-word gem from Luke M. Lambert, MBA, CFA, CASC, the CEO of ASCOA (Ambulatory Surgical Centers of America), a corporate partner in physician-owned surgery centers. For sheer brevity and brilliance, for being appealingly simple and unpretentious, Luke's tip takes top prize. "Research your expected case volumes, research your expected costs and don't overbuild. Work with an experienced ASC architect."
