Three approaches make the repair of ruptured disks viable in the outpatient setting.

The repair of herniated disks in the cervical region through anterior approaches, with and without fusion, and microdiscectomy in the lumbar region is becoming more and more a standard of practice. You can perform these procedures in a multi-specialty facility safely and successfully as long as you have adequate volume, appropriate equipment, trained personnel, a sound pain control protocol and good payor contracts.
