The majority of today's RNs are at least 50 years old, a statistic that "should send a message about the importance of hanging on to young nurses," said James Stobinski, PhD, RN, CNOR, director of credentialing and education at The Competency and Credentialing Institute in Denver, Colo., and the director of surgical services at St. Luke's Boise (Idaho) Medical Center.
