Nitroprusside in the Ambulatory Surgery Setting Do any of you free-standing, physician owned ASC's keep Nipride on hand? We recently had a patient scheduled for "local" anesthesia and is known to develop autonomic dysreflexia. Our doctor wanted our CRNA to be "on standby" for this procedure. Our CRNA researched this condition and determined that we needed to have Nipride on hand. My understanding of this med is that it is used in CCU/ER settings and is not for use in ASC's. The CRNA's response was this is the treatment of choice and we need to be prepared. Started by: Pamelia Payne (Administrator/Director/Manager/Owner/Exec. Officer) at July 7, 2010 (10:19 am) |
