Our operating rooms were islands amid mayhem during a recent 18-month hospital redesign. Throughout the ordeal we learned to be patient. We became increasingly adept at handling negative behaviors in others by refusing to join downbeat alliances. Mostly, we learned to survive. Here's how our clinical team pulled together to avoid voting each other off the surgical wing.
