Charting Your Financial Course
If you don't take the time develop these six revenue policies, your facility's bottom line might be bobbing on a sea of uncertainty.

Where's your revenue policy? Don't worry, your Medicare surveyor won't be asking for it - but your governing body or board of directors one day surely will. Before your center opens, take the time to sketch out your financial principles so that you and your staff know when it's OK to waive co-payments and deductibles, to give a cash discount, to offer a professional courtesy and to go out of network. This doesn't have to be a major undertaking. But without these six revenue policies in place, your facility's finances could be on shaky ground.
