Regional anesthesia efficiently controls pain and eliminates the need for expensive inhalation agents, therefore allowing for faster recovery times, more efficient case flow and increased cost-savings. Every patient who walks into your facility for surgery on shoulders, legs or hands is a candidate for this technique. To use it properly, however, you must be aware of safety issues and get complete buy-in from your surgical team.
