Turn Your OR Table Into a Spinal Table
A new attachment system makes converting a snap.

Considering offering spinal procedures at your facility but aren't sure if you'll do enough cases to merit purchasing a specialized table? The Allen Spinal System from Allen Medical Systems is a frame that attaches to almost any OR table to give all the support and positioning necessary for these procedures. According to the manufacturer, it can move the patient into a jackknife position using the table's lift system and can be adjusted to accommodate patients who weigh up to 400 pounds, provided that the table can withstand that much weight. The system's carbon fiber extension provides enhanced C-arm access. After the procedure, this system can be folded into a 2-square-foot space for easy storage. The manufacturer declined to disclose the list price.
