By now, you're probably well aware of the ASC list update and payment changes that will take effect Jan. 1. To summarize, CMS is adding 21 procedures to the ASC list. In addition, due to revisions of CPT codes by the American Medical Association, CMS is adding 25 codes to the ASC list and deleting 22 codes. Finally, CMS is capping payments for 275 procedures at the hospital outpatient department rate, effectively cutting the rates of 269 procedures currently on the ASC list.
