You know that post-op pain remains one of the biggest barriers to efficient, effective surgical care. It may prolong recovery, lead to hospital readmission, promote immobilization, inhibit early rehabilitation, contribute to the development of chronic pain and reduce overall patient satisfaction. The good news is that pain researchers have entered a new realm of discovery, and many think we will soon move close to the ultimate goal of a pain-free, opioid-free future. Here's an overview.
