A Colorado legislator is seeking state and federal investigations into hospital-insurer dealings after the Colorado Ambulatory Surgery Center Association accused the two industries of improper business practices. CASCA argues that hospitals are trying to recoup lost revenue by discounting inpatient rates for insurers who agree not to contract with the hospitals' outpatient competitors.
