Letters I was recently reading your May 2002 Special Edition, "The Manager's Guide to Infection Control." While reading the article "How to Care for Flexible Endoscopes," I was very surprised to see pictures of a staff member, actively involved with the cleaning process of an endoscope, who was not wearing the proper Personal Protective Equipment. Even if the pictures were only for demonstration purposes, the staff member should have been wearing the proper PPE's so as not to confuse individuals that don't already have a solid understanding, of the necessity, to wear the proper PPE's when performing these types of tasks. Please remember that not everyone who views your magazine is always "in-tune" with the way practices, truly, "should be."

Corrections In "How to Prevent Infection from Surgical Instruments" in our May 2002 "Manager's Guide to Infection Control," we stated the STERRAD has a 90-minute cycle time. The cycle time for the STERRAD 100S is 55 minutes and 45 minutes for the STERRAD 50. We regret this mistake.
