Corrections

The last line of the April 2002 Infection Prevention article titled "What You Need to Know About Viruses" was cut off. Here is how the final paragraph should have read: It is important to know the bioburden you are attempting to control. If the object to be decontaminated has a high level of heat-resistant organisms (spore-forming bacteria and certain viruses) there is a need for thorough cleaning and terminal sterilization. If, on the other hand, the bioburden consists of less heat-resistant organisms, cleaning and disinfection may be adequate.

In the March 2002 Product News, the manufacturer of the Stretchair was listed as Patient Transfer Systems. It is actually Stretchair Patient Transfer Systems. Their phone number was also incorrect. It is 1-800-237-1162, not 1-800-273-1162 as was published.

The article "A Guide to Colon Preps" in the February 2002 issue stated that the regimen for the Fleet Phosphosoda required that patients be on a clear liquid diet for two days prior to a colonoscopy. The company actually recommends that the patient eat a low residue breakfast and clear liquids for lunch and dinner the day before the test.
